| Well as the cat is out of the bag...I can finally send out a note. I have wanted to yell from the roof tops...I am WARM again!!! So I am back in Florida for a little visit. My sister and I have been cooking up a plan to surprise Mum for Mother's Day and her birthday (she's the big 65 now...medicare age...heehee) So Becky picked me up on Monday night after a long day of traveling with Air France (which I highly recommend now) and we surprise mom with an "early" present...Oh the look on her face was worth it! She kept hugging me and saying "I thought you were coming at Christmas" So I have been in Pensacola for a week of seafood, shopping, and sun. Oh it has been fantastic. I have managed to eat a real southern biscuit, fried grouper and cheese grits, Iced Tea (and it was oh so good) and then it was topped off with the Mother's Day meal Frogmore Stew (boiled shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, and bread...mmm mmm good!) We had a great time at my sister's with the family photo and all. The beach is finally getting back in shape...the Catholic church on the beach finally opened it's doors again (1st time since Hurricane Ivan-September 2004)...and I have had enough seafood to last me till my next visit. But I did get to see my beautiful nieces and nephews...not to mention a band concert...my nephew Matt is a fantastic trombone player (1st chair)...and Chris is still the sportsman...and the girls are as beautiful as ever! Most of my time is being spent hanging out with the "Happy Hour" group in Windsor Villas (mom and dad's neighnorhood). What a great group of people...The "Norms", Ms. Dorothy and Ms. Rose, and my parents. The biggest problem for me is I forgot about the stupid vampire bugs!! My legs are eaten up!
Friday I am off to Tallahassee to see friends. I can't wait to see them and to visit church and see the changes Clayton keeps talking about.
Here are some pictures of my parents new dog, Chloe, I named her Demon dog...think Star Wars and the Ewoks...and the beautiful Katie-Dog...
In the mean time here are some photos of the amazing spring weather in Scotland...Becca and I went exploring to Lauriston Castle and it was a beautiful day...Our toes finally saw the light!!!
See you soon my Tally friends...and missing you all my scotland family and friends...

| Hiya all...well there isn't much to tell except that as of 20 March I am an official employee of the National Health Service. Which puts me in the statistic that 1 in 6 people in the UK work for the NHS. I think that statistic even fits within the church population at Every Nation Edinburgh. I will be in the same unit (the ICU), but I am going to be working on a different team. I am excited about getting to know a new group of people. There are over 120 people just in the ICU and I am still meeting new people. There is a great website you can visit to check out the ICU at the New Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh... www.edinburghcriticalcare.org.uk I have no idea if it has been updated recently, but it is still a great site.
Nothing exciting to report here on the home front. Becca got over being sick and I got it. Poor thing had to deal with me being sick...not an easy thing
Hopefully I will have more interesting things to post this summer as I have some exciting trips/ holidays planned...the beach, Venice, Ireland and possibly a nursing conference or 2 in Barcelona and Prague...man I love living in Europe...and the best of all...my sister Becky is coming in July...we are meeting in Paris, then back to Edinburgh then off the Amsterdam to see my nephew Chris in a world wide sports event...he is playing football (soccer) for the US team.
I hope you might find the time to come and visit. We would love to have the company... | | |
